Use a pencil to write the text inside speech bubbles.
For lines that appear on top of Manga screens or solid ink parts, apply tracing paper before writing.
This is the simplest method. Use a black pen to write the text manually.
Type the lines using a computer or smartphone, adjust the size to fit the speech bubble, then print and paste them. For text that overlaps with Manga screens, applying it beneath the Manga screen layer will make it look better.
Scan the comic paper and use painting software and such to type the text into the speech bubbles.
For manga that are contributed to magazines, the covers are usually black-and-white as well. The cover is also included in the total page number.
One of the appeals of Doujinshi is that you can adjust the color and number of pages to your liking. Most use color for the cover and black and white for the main text (the actual manga).
Submitting to a publication involves calling the editorial department you wish to review your manga and scheduling a meeting. For details on contribution methods and such, confirm with the magazine.
With Doujinshi, you print the material yourself and make it into a book. There are many ways to do this, such as making copies at a convenience store and folding them, sending the manuscript data to a printing company and having it bound, and so on. To locate printing companies, try searching for “Doujinshi printing.”
For details, check the terms of the magazine you wish to contribute to or the printing company.
